Kirjeldus
This single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is crafted from grapes which are hand-harvested from Vinos Sanz’s oldest vines. Planted in 1980, these were actually the first Sauvignon Blanc vines to be grown anywhere in the Rueda region. These years of maturity help to give the Finca La Colina Sauvignon Blanc a breathtaking depth and intensity of flavours.
Over the years winemakers have noticed that Rueda is a particularly good canvas for growing Sauvignon Blanc thanks to the extreme continental climate. In the summer daytime temperatures tend to be very high, but during the night temperatures fall significantly which helps the grapes to hang on to their acidity and to ripen more gradually. This slow maturation process helps to express the full potential of the Sauvignon Blanc grape while maintaining a good balance between freshness and alcohol levels in the wine.
The wine opens with a vivacious fragrance of exotic tropical fruits, lemon zest and hints of delicate white flowers which are also found on the palate. Thanks to the vibrant acidity, creamy, full texture and long finish, this is an ideal Sauvignon Blanc to sip alongside baked cod, sea bass or a generous platter of garlicky prawns.
